Down in Monterey

We arrived at the Jabberwock B&B on Wed. Sept 19, 2007 around 2pm. What a cool place! The theme is Alice In Wonderland and there are whimsical touches everywhere you look. The gardens feature waterfalls, gazing globes, statuettes, wooden caricatures, and gorgeous flowers of every hue. There are 9 rooms, all uniquely decorated. Our room on the 3rd floor is done in shades of apricot. The house is Victorian, a reformed convent sitting right above Cannery Row. We took a crash nap on our Sleep# Bed (as advertised on TV) then took a walk down towards the Aquarium for dinner. We enjoyed a beautiful view, great Sonoma Pinot Noir, halibut and a risoto-stuffed portabello for dinner at the Fresh Cream restaurant. Slept well for the night, then sat down to breakfast with 5 other couples, from all over: Massachusetts, Germany, Montreal, etc. The Canadians were glad we spoke le Francais un petit peu. Today is our Pasadera Golf and Jazz day, featuring a round of golf for Jon, a buffet dinner for the 2 of us, and a concert featuring Mary Stahlings. Tomorrow is the opening of the Monterey Jazz Festival.
